On November the 2nd, he will deliver a paper to the Department of Psychology at the University of Melbourne on recent work on animal emotions.
On Sunday the 4th, he will be addressing the Healthy Living Festival in Sydney, and on Wednesday the 7th of November, he will give a talk in Brisbane at the University of Queensland in conjunction with Animal Liberation.
Jeff has signed a contract with W.W. Norton to write: The Face on Your Plate, about vegetarianism and veganism. The book will be finished in February 2008, and published during the fall of 2008.
I am talking to my agent (Miriam Altshuler) about a book on dementia, combination memoir, a critique of current thinking, and reflections on the history and psychology of Alzheimer’s. Living with my 88 year-old profoundly forgetful mother Diana has brought this up for me (plus the fact that she often complains that I wrote My Father’s Guru, so why not something about your mother??).
Thinking about how easily we dismiss people with so-called mental disease also made me wonder what is hidden inside this label so freely given out today.
